!! SHOW MOVED TO SATURDAYS THIS SPRING !!

MEET THE HOST

I’m Eve (they/them), and I have the pleasure of finding new local music every week. I love the NYC music scene and I want to promote everything I find!

I run everything having to do with Brooklyn Buzz, and my voice is the one you hear on-air! I also work at the WPIR station when i’m not working on my own show.

This is my final year at WPIR and I’m getting ready to swap the campus studio for something in the NYC music scene myself — hit me up if you’ve got leads!

WHAT YOU MISSED THIS PAST WEEK…

April 11th, 2026

This song came out at the end of March, remixing a previous song of theirs to tune it into a really great EDM-esque banger. I also know they have a full remix album coming soon, closer to the end of April, remixing Modern Church, so make sure you keep your eyes and ears out for that! This was definitely a great wake-up song for my listeners at 11AM on a Saturday.

⚝ They will be playing at The Music Hall of Williamsburg on July 16th, along with Lip Critic and Fantasy of a Broken Heart, who I also both love! Great summer show for you to see!!

Damager - r//mix ~ Public Circuit

Keep The Car Running ~ Tennis Courts

I absolutely adore Tennis Courts. Maybe a year ago now I played their song, “Stench,” and I still listen to it pretty frequently. Tennis Courts had a new EP come out at the end of March, Why Would We Fight, and I wanted to give it some on-air love. This is my personal favorite song off of the album, but it was so hard to pick a favorite, make sure to give the full EP a listen.

Suspirium ~ A Very Special Episode

We were just cozy and nostalgic and now we are gonna spook yooooou. I’ve also played A Very Special Episode and everything I’ve played has had a sort of horror-esque vibe. The song last time, “Deep in the Weeds,” which I played probably a year ago now, has a really cool 80s horror looking cover. It drew me in, and I continue to love them. This song came out about a month ago, and they are on tour in Europe right now! Keep your eyes out for when they come back.

My Angel (Adieu) ~ Plastic Icons

Plastic Icons are fresh themselves! They previously only had one EP out but they came out with this single a few weeks ago! They had a show at The Dalancey the week that I played them, so that of course has unfortunately passed, BUT keep your eyes out for things they may be doing in the future. If you give this tune a listen, you’ll definitely be interested in more of their stuff.

Bedtime ~ Fully Furnished

I looove Fully Furnished. I played their song “Squirrely” it feels like forever ago. I guess today we had a ton of band repeats. There’s so many people I played a long time ago that I wanna bring back on-air for continual love. Dare I say, this may be my favorite song from this week’s playlist. Love that funk. Also, my final film for a class is about looking at my childhood photos, and this album cover is giving me a lot of ideas ;)

This is off of an EP that came out in the fall, “Not Your Type” and I love this description: “dedicated to every dude who has ever rejected me, every girl who has ever been mean to me, and every friend who has ever made fun of me and not supported me.” Period, I love that energy. They played recently at Soho Live, but keep your eyes out for future shows to come. Lock in, support local artists, go to live shows.

Pretty Monsters ~ Leanne Gallati

Nosebleeds ~ Cabin Fever

Another band making a comeback to the radiowaves here at WPIR, I played their tune “MIA” forever ago and I’m happy to be playing them again. They have a full album, “Dead Ends & Halos” coming out on April 24th! Keep your eyes and ears out for that. They will also be celebrating the release of course…

⚝They will be playing a live show at Arlene’s Grocery on April 24th!

Violets ~ Lena Fjortoft

Previously known as “Blue Yonder,” Lena Fjortoft has been on my radar for a very long time so I’m so happy I finally found the perfect moment to bring them on-air. So much music has been coming out this month, including this tune. With an independent singer-songwriter vibe, I adore this one.

Exercise Caution ~ Candy & The Kids

Total switch in vibe! This one was released only a couple days before I played it on-air which always makes me so giddy. I also always like to shout out when I think a band has cool and unique graphics on their album covers, socials, fashion, etc., and Candy & The Kids definitely falls into that category. As someone who does a lot of graphic design, I always have a little eye looking at all of that. This tune, by the way, is so catchy, be prepared to have it in your head for days. I’m not complaining though ;)

I’m super super excited to play this song. I’m obsessed with this band. I had their song, “Prophet Margins,” on repeat for months after I discovered it. I was gunning to get tickets to their show at the end of April but then someone reminded me that when I go home to Minnesota for the summer, they are playing in my home city ON MY BIRTHDAY!! I am endlessly excited, since I have (maybe secretly) been told that I’m getting tickets for my birthday. I can’t wait to see them live.

⚝They will be playing in NYC at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on April 30th! If you want a talented, energized band to see live, SNOWMEN is a perfect pick for you.

Goslings ~ SNOWMEN

I love Trophy Wife so much, I was giggly and giddy just talking about them on-air. Please bring “Guts” back to Apple Music PLEASE. (Outing myself as using Apple Music…) I also love their song, “Keep It,” which I played on-air when it came out too, but I just cannot get enough of them. Very excitingly, this tune is one of two that came out the day before I played this on-air! Make sure to give that second song, “Kind of Girl I Am,” a listen as well because it is phenomenal.

So Hard ~ Trophy Wife
